Description
Baseline Assessment for a 10-Year-Old Neurodiverse Learner
Here is a structured guide to assess the four foundational areas, including what the "norm" looks like and how to bridge any gaps.
A formal assessment can be intimidating, so this baseline is designed as a series of low-pressure, engaging activities to create a holistic profile of the child. The goal is discovery, not testing.
Important Note Before You Begin:
- Environment: Conduct these activities in a calm, comfortable space where the child feels safe and relaxed.
- Time: Do not attempt to do this all in one sitting. Break it up into four short, 15-20 minute sessions over a few days.
- Attitude: Your role is one of a curious and supportive partner, not an examiner. Keep it light and positive.
